August 16-17 Peoria to Columbus OH (402/10947 mi), Columbus to Buffalo NY (355/11302 mi) - August 2016 saw one of worst natural disasters in the United States history when a massive complex of thunderstorms and tornadoes dropped over 7 trillion gallons of rain on Louisiana, causing catastrophic flooding. This weather system, with its thunderstorms and tornadoes, has now migrated northward, and stands directly in our path. We soldier on, trying to stay south of the worst of it, but it is wet going.
