North Dakota is more beautiful than I imagined, but the winds are formidable, 18 to 31 mph from the west, head on, with gusts to 42 mph. I am battered by the time I get to Minot, where I join a party in progress at Magic City Harley-Davidson. This rider in the burnout contest burned out his clutch before his tire.
